OUR LOCATION

Owing to its central geographical location, Denver was strategically chosen to be the site of FOOTPRINTS in the SKY, thereby providing convenient serviceability throughout the United States.

OUR HISTORY

FOOTPRINTS in the SKY’s Founder and President, Johnny Langland, has over 40 years experience in aviation. His roles as corporate pilot, flight department manager, aviation consultant, expert witness and advanced flight training instructor have all been rewarding in their own ways, but FOOTPRINTS has a special place in his heart.

Johnny’s mother was one of the first beneficiaries of a donated airplane which flew her to the Mayo Clinic in 1996. Sadly, she died not long after, but this great loss further nurtured Johnny’s long-held dream of focusing on the humanitarian side of aviation.

OUR NAME

FOOTPRINTS in the SKY was inspired by a poem on a scroll hanging in Johnny’s mother’s house. The poem, Footprints in the Sand, is the story of someone being carried when his troubles are overwhelming. Not unlike the patients carried by our airplanes.

OUR FLIGHTS

FOOTPRINTS in the SKY gives patients the opportunity to travel to their medical facilities on modern business jets. They can be accompanied by family members or a friend. Additionally, our patients are advised that it is important to have back-up travel plans in place in the event we are unable to provide a flight on the specific date requested. When possible, we try to assist with the back-up process.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

Transportation by commercial airlines is not suitable for many patients and private charter or Air Ambulance can cost in excess of $50,000. Also, scheduled air carriers only provide service to a relatively small number of airports. Corporate flight departments and charter operators often exist because companies or individuals need to travel to destinations not served by commercial air carriers.
